The Photo Tool Is an Editing Utility

No Universal Passport Photo Standard

The Positioning Guide Is Not a Biometric Check

The current tool may display a visual guide to help position the face.

This guide is not:

• facial-recognition software

• an official head-size measurement
• an official eye-line measurement
• a government compliance test

It is a visual editing aid only.

Background Removal Is Not Currently Included

The current V1 Passport Size Photo Maker does not automatically:

• remove the original background
• replace the background with white
• replace the background with blue
• detect shadows
• certify background compliance

Any future feature should be considered part of the service only after it is actually implemented.

Browser-Side Image Processing

The current custom image editor is designed to process selected photos in the browser.

It does not need to upload the image to our server or a third-party image-processing API in order to create the edited file.

Normal website infrastructure may still process technical information as described in the Privacy Policy.

File-Size Compression

The tool may offer JPG compression targets such as:

• under 100 KB
• under 50 KB
• under 30 KB
• under 20 KB
• a custom KB limit

These are image-processing targets, not guarantees that a particular portal will accept the file.

The ability to reach a very small KB value depends on factors including:

• pixel dimensions
• image complexity
• JPEG quality
• browser encoding

If the selected target cannot be reached within the tool’s supported quality range, the tool may produce a larger file and display a warning.

DPI and Pixel Calculations

The tool can use DPI to convert physical measurements into pixel dimensions.

For example:

35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI ≈ 413 × 531 pixels

These calculations help prepare the image but should not be interpreted as a universal application requirement.

Browser-generated image files may also not contain explicit embedded print-DPI metadata simply because DPI was used for the conversion.

Printing

Any printing guidance on PassportSizePhoto.org is general practical information.

Printer software can alter image size through settings such as:

• Fit to Page
• Scale to Fit
• borderless enlargement
• automatic shrinking

You are responsible for checking the printed physical dimensions when exact size matters.
